Serving as dramaturg for the production, Jen participated in TheatreMidwest's post-show discussion following Brilliant Traces by Cindy Lou Johnson. Jen provided contextual information and answered audience questions for this play, which addresses issues of isolation and human connection, among other things. The play is set in a remote cabin in Alaska during a snow storm.

Jen and her writing-life partner Holly Pelesky teamed up to lecture at the University of Nebraska's MFA in Creative Writing program. The presentation, "The Need for Nourishment," addressed ways to prepare for and how to sustain a personal writing life post-MFA.

Jen provided contextual information and answered audience questions for this play, which is set during Easter weekend in western Kansas in 1936.
